DTBirdV8D10 and DTBatD3 models have been installed for the first time
DTBird® has completed the first installation of the DTBirdV8D10 and DTBatD3 models at a large wind turbine in Austria.
The project represents an important milestone in the development of wildlife monitoring and collision risk reduction technologies for modern large-scale wind turbines.
DTBirdV8D10 for large wind turbines
The DTBirdV8D10 model has been specifically designed for large onshore and offshore wind turbines. Equipped with eight HD cameras, the system provides bird detection coverage of up to 600 meters and 360-degree monitoring around the wind turbine.
The D10 Collision Avoidance Module includes ten speakers installed at two different heights, ensuring effective sound distribution across the entire rotor swept area.
DTBatD3 for bat protection
The DTBatD3 model incorporates three bat detectors distributed along the turbine tower at rotor swept area height.
Combined with the Bat Stop Control Module, the system helps improve bat protection by supporting operational mitigation measures at large wind turbines.
First installation in Austria
The DTBirdV8D10 and DTBatD3 systems were installed on a wind turbine with a hub height of 140 meters and a rotor diameter of 112 meters.
This first deployment demonstrates the capability of DTBird and DTBat systems to adapt to the increasing dimensions and monitoring requirements of modern wind energy projects.
