DTBird sponsors II International Symposium of Red Kite 2015

DTBird® sponsored the II International Red Kite Symposium, held in Huesca, Spain, from October 30 to November 1, 2015.

The symposium was organized with the participation of the Binaced Town Council, the Cinca Medio County Council, Friends of the Vulture Association, and SEO/BirdLife. With the aid of organizations working on the conservation and monitoring of the Red Kite (Milvus milvus), one of Europe’s most emblematic raptor species.

Supporting wildlife conservation initiatives

As part of its commitment to biodiversity protection, DTBird supported the event and shared information about technologies designed to reduce bird collision risks at wind farms.

The symposium provided a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge on bird conservation, habitat management, monitoring techniques and human-related threats affecting Red Kite populations.

Reducing collision risks at wind farms

Bird collisions with wind turbines are one of the challenges addressed by environmental monitoring programs associated with renewable energy projects.

DTBird Collision Avoidance and Stop Control modules have been developed to help wind farm operators reduce collision risks for birds, including large raptor species that may be vulnerable in certain locations.

Technology and biodiversity

The participation of DTBird in events such as the International Red Kite Symposium reflects the importance of collaboration between the renewable energy sector and the scientific community.

By supporting research and conservation initiatives, DTBird contributes to the development of solutions that promote the coexistence of wind energy generation and wildlife conservation.
