DTBird delivers oral presentation at the World Wind Energy Conference 2015
DTBird® participated in the 14th World Wind Energy Conference & Exhibition (WWEC 2015), held in Jerusalem, Israel, from October 26 to 28, 2015. The event is also co-organized by the World Wind Energy Association and the Israeli Wind Energy Association.
During the conference, DTBird delivered an oral presentation focused on the use of automated acoustic deterrence technology to reduce bird collisions at wind turbines.
Scientific presentation on bird collision avoidance
The presentation, entitled “Automatic emission of sound to avoid bird collisions with Wind Turbines. From biological concepts to current performance”, reviewed the scientific principles behind DTBird technology and the operational results obtained in wind farms.
The presentation explained how acoustic deterrence can be integrated with bird detection technologies to help reduce collision risks while supporting the sustainable development of wind energy projects.
Sharing knowledge with the international wind industry
The World Wind Energy Conference brings together researchers, wind farm developers, manufacturers, environmental specialists and policy makers from around the world.
DTBird’s participation provided an opportunity to share practical experience in wildlife monitoring and bird protection technologies with the international renewable energy community.
Supporting biodiversity and renewable energy
As wind energy continues to expand globally, technologies that help minimize impacts on wildlife play an increasingly important role in project development and environmental management.
DTBird remains committed to developing and improving solutions that support the coexistence of renewable energy generation and biodiversity conservation.
