New DTBird Specifications Released
DTBird® has continuously evolved since its first installation on a wind turbine in Spain.
The first DTBird system was installed in March 2009 at the Molinos del Ebro wind farm. In early 2010, the first commercial unit was sold and installed at an Acciona wind farm, marking the beginning of DTBird’s international deployment.
From pilot project to international deployment
Since its first installation, the DTBird system has undergone continuous technological improvements in bird detection, collision risk reduction and operational performance.
Over the years, the technology has expanded to multiple wind energy markets and has been installed in numerous wind farms worldwide.
At the time of this publication, DTBird systems were already operating in 10 countries, supporting wind farm operators in their biodiversity protection and environmental monitoring efforts.
New DTBird Specifications
The updated DTBird specifications provide an overview of the system’s capabilities, including bird detection, collision avoidance technologies and operational integration with wind farms.
The document also describes the different DTBird configurations available for wind turbines and highlights the technological evolution achieved since the first installations.
