DTBird NIWD 2021

DTBird participates in Nature Inclusive Wind Farm Development (NIWD) 2021

DTBird’s CEO, Agustín Riopérez, has been invited as a guest speaker at the Nature Inclusive Wind Farm Development Conference (NIWFD) 2021. His presentation will focus on bird and bat monitoring systems used in wind farms, and on how these technologies contribute to nature-inclusive design (Nature Inclusive Design, NID). This approach aims to reduce environmental impact while improving the integration of wind energy projects into local ecosystems.

The Nature Inclusive Wind Farm Development Conference is organised by the Croatian Chamber of Economy, in cooperation with GreenTrust and Enercon. Furthermore, it brings together technical experts, environmental specialists, and industry stakeholders to discuss how NID can be applied in current and future wind farm developments. Conference will take place on 5 November at the Hilton Garden Inn in Zagreb, Croatia.

During his session, Agustín Riopérez will provide a technical overview of the DTBird and DTBat systems. The presentation will include information on detection and mitigation functions, recent field results, and examples of how the systems have been implemented in different onshore and offshore projects. He will also outline ongoing R&D work and key developments planned for 2022. These will have a focus on improving accuracy, data analysis, and automated decision support for wind farm operators.

By participating in NIWFD 2021, DTBird contributes to the broader discussion on harmonising wind energy production with wildlife protection. A topic of increasing relevance for regulators and project developers across Europe.
