EDF Energies Nouvelles signs with DTBird its 4th contract in France

EDF Energies Nouvelles awarded DTBird® a new contract for the deployment of bird monitoring and collision risk reduction technology at wind farms in France.

The agreement represented the fourth contract signed between EDF Energies Nouvelles and DTBird, reinforcing the confidence of one of Europe’s leading renewable energy companies in DTBird technology.

Strengthening cooperation in France

The new contract marked another step in the collaboration between both companies. It reflected the growing interest in automated bird monitoring solutions within the French wind energy sector.

By selecting DTBird once again, EDF Energies Nouvelles confirmed its commitment to combining renewable energy generation with biodiversity protection measures.

Supporting wildlife protection at wind farms

DTBird was developed to help wind farm operators monitor bird activity around wind turbines and implement measures aimed at reducing collision risks.

The system combines automated bird detection, risk assessment and mitigation tools, providing continuous monitoring capabilities adapted to operational wind farms.

As environmental requirements continue to evolve, technologies such as DTBird help operators integrate wildlife protection objectives into wind energy projects.

Growing presence in the French market

The contract further strengthened DTBird’s presence in France, one of Europe’s most important wind energy markets.

Moreover, repeated contracts from existing customers demonstrated the reliability of the technology and the value of long-term cooperation between renewable energy developers and environmental technology providers.

The project contributed to DTBird’s continued international expansion and to the adoption of innovative solutions that support the coexistence of wind energy generation and biodiversity conservation.

EDF Energies Nouvelles is now part of EDF’s renewable energy division, currently operating under the EDF Power Solutions brand.
