DTBird & DTBat at KNE Conference 2019

DTBird & DTBat at KNE Conference

The Kompetenzzentrum Naturschutz und Energiewende (KNE) will host a two-day conference at the KulturBahnhof in Kassel, Germany, on May 15–16. The theme of this edition focuses on bird protection at wind turbines and on how detection systems can contribute to a nature-friendly wind-energy sector. Additionally, the participation of DTBird and DTBat in the KNE Conference reinforces the growing interest in technological solutions that improve coexistence between wind energy and wildlife.

Presentation of DTBird and DTBat systems to German professionals

During the KNE Conference, DTBird and DTBat will attend as exhibitors and present the latest developments in their systems. A dedicated session will allow Agustín Riopérez (CEO) to answer questions from the audience, including wind-industry stakeholders, environmental consultants and wildlife-protection authorities.

DTBird and DTBat systems are already in operation at three wind farms in Germany, demonstrating the country’s commitment to adopting transparent monitoring solutions based on visual and acoustic detection.

System upgrades showcased at the event

Several upgrades will be highlighted during the conference, including improvements that strengthen the performance of the systems in both onshore and offshore environments:

  • +67% increase in real-time analyzed image resolution
  • +26% increase in maximum detection distance
  • +200% increase in video-recording resolution in the Online DAP reporting tool

These improvements further reinforce DTBird and DTBat as reliable solutions for detecting bird activity, supporting collision-mitigation actions and improving long-term environmental reporting.

Collaboration with the German wind-energy sector

The presence of DTBird DTBat at the KNE Conference strengthens ongoing collaboration with German institutions and stakeholders involved in wind-farm development. By participating in this event, DTBird aims to contribute to technical dialogue, share operational experience and promote best practices for integrating biodiversity protection into wind-farm operations.
