DTBird & DTBat product Updates

Automatic Collision Control upgrade released

A new DTBird Collision Control upgrade has been released for the Collision Control Module used in DTBird® installations worldwide. This update improves the way potential collision events are identified and reviewed on the DTBird® Data Analysis Platform.

The upgrade is based on the analysis of thousands of historical collision recordings collected by DTBird® units across several countries. By studying these datasets, the team defined new parameters that allow the system to automatically mark videos where a collision may have occurred. As a result, operators and environmental teams can focus their attention on the most relevant recordings first.

Benefits for onshore and offshore wind farms

Moreover, the system now gathers between 60% and 80% of the collision-related evidence found in the videos recorded during 1–5% of the total flights detected by DTBird®. This represents a significant increase in the efficiency of collision analysis and reduces the time needed to verify events at wind farms.

In addition, the new upgrade is especially valuable for large wind farms with high bird activity. The automatic pre-selection of videos helps users detect patterns, identify risk situations, and generate reliable environmental reports. It is also beneficial for offshore projects, where access to turbines is limited and remote analysis is a key tool for daily operations.

Improved data analysis and reporting

The update is available on the DTBird® online platform, where users can access the improved filters, advanced search options, and updated collision indicators. Furthermore, the system allows real-time synchronization with site-specific configurations, ensuring consistent data analysis.

Therefore, this new release reinforces DTBird’s commitment to transparent, data-driven environmental monitoring. It also supports companies and authorities who require accurate information to assess bird collision risk and take mitigation actions when necessary.
