DTBird is selected in ELBE EUROCLUSTER Financial Support to Innovation call!
In September 2024, DTBird submitted a project to design and test a bird anti-rest effect prototype on a floating wind farm located on the southern coast of France. The project received funding from the European Union’s Joint Cluster Initiatives Programme under grant agreement No 101074230 (European Commission, 2024). The funded work will run for 12 months and includes prototype manufacturing, field installation, and operational testing.
The ELBE Eurocluster innovation support project aims to evaluate a practical deterrence effect on offshore structures where resting birds increase collision or contamination risks. The field campaign will deliver measurements of activation behaviour, reliability during offshore conditions, and integration options for floating wind assets.
Updates will be published during 2024 and 2025 based on the test schedule defined with project partners.
