DTBird & DTBat Installations

Over 50 DTBird units installed in the first half of 2020

More than 50 DTBird units were installed during the first half of 2020, despite the global disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Installations continued both onshore and offshore, with deployments across several European countries and the United States.

Continuous operation during COVID-19 restrictions

DTBird and DTBat systems maintained full service throughout the strictest quarantine periods. These systems monitor and reduce bird and bat mortality at wind farms, and their autonomous operation allowed them to function normally even when public movement and access to wind farms were restricted.

Technicians and operators were able to monitor system status remotely, ensuring uninterrupted delivery of transparent wind power supported by real-time bird and bat protection.

Supporting safe wind-farm operation

The uninterrupted operation of DTBird and DTBat systems during the first half of 2020 demonstrated the value of automated environmental monitoring. Wind-farm operators benefited from:

  • Continuous detection and monitoring without on-site presence.

  • Reliable data streams for environmental compliance.

  • Reduced risk for field personnel during travel restrictions.

  • Stable operation in both onshore and offshore facilities.

Deployments across Europe and the USA

The installations completed during this period included a mix of new wind-farm sites and system upgrades. The expansion reflects growing interest in solutions that integrate biodiversity protection with wind-power generation.
