DTBird presented latest upgrades at WindEurope Conference & Exhibition
The Conference & Exhibition took place between April 2nd and April 4th, gathering wind-farm developers, operators, manufacturers, environmental consultants, project managers, and university students from across Europe.
During the event, DTBird and DTBat presented their systems and highlighted several technological improvements that strengthen their application in both onshore and offshore wind farms. These presentations formed part of the company’s wider effort to promote transparent and wildlife-friendly wind power.
Presentation of the latest DTBird upgrades
A dedicated session focused on the latest DTBird upgrades, which include:
- +67% increase in real-time image resolution analysed by the system
- +26% increase in maximum bird-detection distance
- +200% increase in video-recording quality, stored and later reviewed through the Online Data Analysis Platform (DAP)
These improvements reinforce the ability of DTBird systems to detect bird activity more accurately, support collision-avoidance functions, and generate high-quality environmental data for operators and regulators.
Demonstrating system performance and validation
During WindEurope 2019, the team also explained the results of efficiency testing and public evaluations carried out by independent institutions. These assessments confirm the reliability of DTBird systems in real-world conditions and highlight the technology’s value for long-term wind-wildlife monitoring. More than 50 additional DTBird and DTBat units are expected to be installed during Q2–Q3 of 2019 across North America, Asia, and Europe, demonstrating the global expansion of the systems and the growing interest among developers in AI-led bird and bat protection solutions.
Stand activities and mascot debut
Visitors to the DTBird stand had the opportunity to see the equipment, review demonstration videos, and speak directly with the team.
The event also marked the official debut of the DTBird & DTBat mascots, which attracted considerable attention and provided an engaging way to introduce the technology to a wider audience. WindEurope 2019 provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen relationships with industry partners and share updates on system evolution, wildlife protection, and operational transparency.
