Earlier this year, the company underwent a process of internal auditing by a third party in order to achieve by the end of June, the ISO 9001:2015 certification by Bureau Veritas. With this in hand, DTBird welcomes a new company milestone and continues guaranteeing our Clients, attention to detail and great service for their DTBird & DTBat installations worldwide. The certification is valid for 3 years and involves an annual audit.

This week DTBird donated a second-hand used Gas Filtration Cabin to GREFA, a Spanish wildlife recovery center located on the outskirts of Madrid. With the company's current business product division, there was no longer a need to use equipment such as this. With the previous visit to GREFA's installations at the beginning of the month, it was decided to donate the Cabin. It will be placed in the necropsy area to handle corpses with suspected infectious diseases. We are glad to give it a second life and boost the local circular economy!

DTBird & DTBat General Company Meeting, June 2023.

DTBird’s CEO, Agustín Riopérez has been invited as a Guest Speaker to give a presentation on the DTBird system and its application for monitoring & reducing collision risk with large raptors. The International Conference “Best practices for mitigating electrocution and collision risk”  hosted by the Vulture Conservation Foundation is organized in the framework of the LIFE Safe for Vultures project, co-financed by the EU’s LIFE Programme. And will take place on May 23rd-24th at the Hotel Regina Margherita, in Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy.

The presentation will cover general and technical aspects of the systems, as well as results and what’s in store for the company in 2023.

A new upgrade has been released for the Collision Control Module of the DTBird^® worldwide units. By analyzing the historical collision recordings of worldwide DTBird^® units, we have set parameters to automatically mark videos where a collision can be recorded.

1-5 % of the flights registered in DTBird^® online platform gather 60-80% of the collisions recorded in the videos.

In 2012 DTBat® was installed for the first time at a Wind Turbine Generator (WTG). DTBat® service is available on & offshore worldwide. It has already been installed in Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Spain, and The Netherlands.

Automatic WTG shutdown connected to bat activity thresholds is the logical approach to protect bats while maximizing electricity production.

How does it work?

DTBat® has 2 modules: Detection and Stop Control. DTBat® Detection module uses ultrasound detectors (1 to 3) to monitor real-time bat activity. DTBat® Stop control module triggers the stop signal according to bat activity thresholds.

Next week, DTBird team delegates will travel to Manchester for Renewable UK's Global Offshore Wind 2022 annual event. The Conference & Exhibition will be held in the Manchester Convention Centre from June 21st till June 22nd. DTBird & DTBat Stand at Global Wind Offshore Event, Manchester, UK, 2022.

Last week, DTBird team delegates traveled to Bilbao for the WindEurope Annual Event in Spain and the Conference on Wind & Wildlife Impacts in Egmond aan Zee, The Netherlands. The Conferences & Exhibitions were held simultaneously and lasted from April 4th till April 8th. During the events, we presented our DTBird & DTBat systems to Wind Farm Developers, Operators and Manufacturers, Environmental Consultants, Project Managers and University students. 

Those visitors who attended the Bilbao Event, got to see firsthand the latest hardware design of our cameras, speakers and bat systems!
